Dear Friends in Faith,
God’s word, being powerful as well as something to be relied upon, causes us to rely upon Him Who is “the living God.” That which proceeds forth from His mouth, and which His prophets and apostles penned, has partly come to pass, and so shall the rest of that which He said surely come to pass. One such passage in the Hebrew Scriptures is this:
“Turn toward Me and be saved, all the limits of the earth, For I am El, and there is no other. By Myself I have sworn; From My mouth has gone forth righteousness, A word, and it shall not turn back; For to Me shall bow every knee, And every tongue shall swear fealty. (Isa.45:22,23).
Here, God’s word is actually telling the limits of the earth to turn toward Him Who is their Saviour. He is saying to them: “Be saved.” Shall they be able to resist? In Genesis Elohim said: “ ‘Become light!’ And it is becoming light.” Could the darkness overpower His words so as to frustrate Him? Can all the limits of the earth frustrate His words? No, for we read of the fulfillment of His powerful declaration in Philippians 2:5-11:
“Christ Jesus . . . nevertheless empties Himself, taking the form of a slave, coming to be in the likeness of humanity, and, being found in fashion as a human, He humbles Himself, becoming obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore, also, God highly exalts Him, and graces Him with the name that is above every name, that in the name of Jesus every knee should be bowing, celestial and terrestrial and subterranean, and every tongue should be acclaiming that Jesus Christ is Lord, for the glory of God, the Father” (Phil.2:7-11).
This facing God and being saved comes as a direct result of Christ’s obedience to death to bring about that which fares forth from the mouth of the Almighty.
We are still working out of the farmhouse here where we have had our office since 1984. This has been provided at low rent or even, in the early years, at no rent at all, by Dean’s cousin, Gertrude Venlet. But her own financial needs now make this no longer an option for her. Tony is now living in a mobile home in town, and we both are making room in our residences for books and office equipment, but realize that we will not have room for all that has accumulated during nearly twenty-two years.
As we sort through books and other literature we are trying to decide what is the best way to distribute items we do not really need but which others might find useful and edifying. So, as a start in this, we are preparing packets of old booklets, pamphlets and tracts, published by the Concordant Publishing Concern, and by Grace and Truth (in England), which we offer to our readers on the following basis: 1. Each packet will contain single copies of such publications, totaling at least 20 items in all and at least a pound in weight (generally more). 2. They will be “pot luck,” in that we will prepare them ahead of time in accord with what we have, and not make an attempt to include only items which readers may specifically want. 3. We will not charge for these but would appreciate help on postage where possible.
But also, if you do have specific requests, send them to us, and we will see if we can meet them.
Thank you for your prayers during this time of adjustment.

Yours in God’s grace and peace,
Dean Hough and Tony Nungesser
